Southern Antiques owner, Andrea Milham was born and raised In Laurel, MS. She met and married a Fairhope boy and spent a little over a decade living in Mobile, AL. Once they started a family she knew she wanted to return to her roots in Jones County. From an early age she was passionate about interior design and would spend hours redecorating her doll houses or clipping design ideas from her favorite shelter magazines like Southern Accents or Traditional Home and posting them in notebooks for future inspiration. (The original Pintrest!!)
After spending several years working in retail management, she landed a job as a design consultant for Ethan Allen where she was named Rookie of the Year for her sales and designs. Shortly after moving to Laurel she decided to combine her retail experience with her design expertise and purchased the established Southern Antiques Mall. In the past seven years, she and her staff have worked to transform the 100 year old 3 story building into a shopping destination for beautiful housewares and furniture, baby gifts, jewelry, gourmet food items, clothing, and the areas largest bridal registry! A one stop shop for everything, Southern Antiques specializes in local artisans, and unique items at amazing prices, making it a shopping destination for clients all over the Southeast.
Andrea and her staff are proud to be a part of the revitalization of downtown Laurel. She has served in the Laurel Junior Auxiliary, as President of the Laurel Arts League, and is currently a member of the Design Committee for Laurel Main Street. Southern Antiques was named Mississippi Main Street Business of the Year for 2015, and was voted by the readers of Mississippi Magazine as Best Antique Mall and runner up for Best Home Interiors Shop for the state of Mississippi. "Visited Laurel today for the first time, with my husband and our 7 yr old. Southern Antiques was top on the list of places to go. So glad we stopped in. Had a great time and everyone was so friendly. And a special thanks for recommending the jerky at The Knight Butcher. Can't wait to visit again."
